The ICDAR2019-ORF competition will be focusing on a very interesting challenge which makes the foundation for the semantic interpretation of the floorplan images. The ICDAR2019-ORF competition will propose only one task to the participants, which will be Object Recognition in Floorplan images. The participants will be required to detect objects in the floorplan images and provide labels for each of them.
The task is important for developing systems that can understand and interpret the floorplan images. An interesting example of application that we imagine is to find all the tables/chairs/beds/sinks in the given floorplan images or to index a floorplan repository on the basis of the objects (or specific organization of objects).
